The Southport School

The Southport School is recognised as one of Queensland’s pre-eminent boarding and day school for boys.

GoodWords pitched for and then worked with the school’s Marketing Manager on a major, multi-state campaign to increase enrolments over a three-year period.

One of our first creative tasks was to conceive the new slogan: Today’s Smarter Students. Tomorrow’s Success Stories. 

This played on the school’s moniker, TSS, to directly engage regional and local parents who wanted their sons to have the best education for their future success.

This slogan was then incorporated into all major marketing materials as part of a strategic, school catchment area information and advertising campaign that led to increased enrolment results.

Among the various projects we worked on were:

  • Re-designing and modernising the school’s Prospectus
  • Re-designing the school’s Information Presentation Folder
  • The writing, design, preparation and print-ready production of a suite of over 80 newspaper and radio advertisements that encouraged parents and boys to attend information sessions in their local area. This included multiple campaigns covering both student enrolment and scholarships in outback and regional towns across Queensland, Northern NSW and Northern territory. Among the regional towns and major cities included in this campaign were Rockhampton, Emerald, Roma, Goondiwindi, Toowoomba, Longreach, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Katherine and Lismore and other northern NSW areas.
  • Preparation of advertisements and invitations to information sessions in China and Hong Kong
  • Preparation and writing of Live Reads for various radio stations and programs
  • Various other copywriting and design projects, as required.
